'Police not helping': Baba Siddique's son Zeeshan Siddique alleges cops inaction; seeks CM Devendra Fadnavis' help
NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique has met with Mumbai’s joint commissioner of police to seek clarity on the chargesheet in his father Baba Siddique’s murder case.

NEW DELHI: NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique on Thursday met with joint commissioner of police Gautam Lakhmi in Mumbai to seek clarity on the chargesheet filed in the murder case of his father, Baba Siddique.
Siddique alleged that the police have refused to provide him with the chargesheet, prompting him to appeal to the court. He also raised concerns about the investigation, stating that key individuals named in his complaint have yet to be interrogated.
“The police said they couldn’t give us the chargesheet. So we have filed an appeal in court. I met Joint CP Gautam Lakhmi to inquire about the status of our complaint. Specifically, we wanted to know if the individuals we suspected and named in our statements have been questioned. Unfortunately, I’ve been informed that they haven’t been interrogated yet,” Siddique said.
Siddique also expressed concerns about the protection being extended to builders allegedly linked to the case, as well as the quick narrative blaming Lawrence Bishnoi for the murder.
“I am hopeful that when I meet CM Devendra Fadnavis, who was a close friend of my father, he will ask the police about this… I don’t understand why these builders are being protected… Mere moments after my father was shot, the narrative started blaming Bishnoi… If that’s true, then bring him to Mumbai and interrogate him. I will also meet deputy CM Ajit Pawar, and after that, I will consult with my legal team on how we can challenge this investigation,” he added.
Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar on October 12.
The police have arrested Salman Vohra and Akashdeep Singh in connection with the murder. Vohra has been accused of financing the crime.
A senior officer from the Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that the investigation has also uncovered links to a prominent leader in Pune, who is reportedly on the radar of the Bishnoi gang.
