Youth shot dead in Begusarai | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: An 18-year-old driver was shot dead at Makdampur village in Mansoorchak police station area of Begusarai on Thursday.
Mansoorchak station house officer (SHO) Rohit Kumar said Ravi Kumar, who lived with his maternal grandmother, was sleeping at the house in Makdumpur village, when someone knocked at their gate and called him outside. “He went out with that person, and after some time, the sound of a gunshot was heard. The villagers rushed in the direction and recovered Ravi’s body in a banana orchard behind the house.”
A forensic team visited the crime scene and collected samples from there.
The SHO said Ravi was shot once to his chest. “He died on the spot. The family members have not mentioned any enmity or dispute of Ravi, who drove a pick-up van and small truck, with anyone. The police are investigating every aspect, including the affair angle. We are waiting for a formal application from the family of the deceased for further action. Investigation is ongoing in the matter,” the SHO said, adding Ravi is survived by his mother Sudha Devi.
The body was sent for a postmortem examination at Begusarai Sadar Hospital.
