Youth on bike dies after crashing into car driven by BJP functionary’ son, driver takes victim to hospital | Mumbai News – Times of India


MUMBAI: A 20-year-old youth on a motorbike was killed after he crashed into a car at Suncity in Vasai on Tuesday. The driver of the car, Tarun Pandey (29), son of a BJP functionary from Nalasopara Prakash Pandey, rushed the victim to the hospital where he was declared dead after admission. The incident comes three days after a Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena functionary from Palghar, Rajesh Shah’s son Mihir mowed down a woman on a two-wheeler in Worli and was absconding, till his arrest on Tuesday.
The Manickpur police have arrested Tarun.The victim, Amit Saini, a resident of Fatherwadi in Vasai (east) was on his sports bike. He was wearing a helmet. When he reached Suncity Road, he reportedly tried to overtake the i20 car from the left. The bike hit the front bumper of the car and landed in the nearby field at around 3.30 pm. Tarun halted his car, alighted and with the help of two passersby put Amit in his vehicle and admitted him to the Cardinal Gracious hospital. Tarun said that Amit was unconscious and he managed to contact the victim’s family on his cellphone. The victim, who sustained serious head injuries, succumbed to his injuries.
Police registered a case against Tarun late Tuesday night. The car belongs to Tarun’s father Prakash, who is a BJP functionary in Nalasopara. Tarun said he was returning to Nalasopara after repairing his car’s AC. Police have seized the car.
