Youth jumps to death from a multi-storeyed building at Kandivali | Mumbai News – Times of India
MUMBAI: A 19-year-old youth jumped to his death from an SRA multi-storeyed building at Kandivali West late on Monday. Police said Pratham Naik was having an argument with his parents as he had not gone for his job at a pizza outlet. Police will also probe if the reason for the drastic step.
Naik lived with his family in an SRA building at Ganesh Nagar, Kandivali.A few days ago, Naik had found a job at a pizza outlet at a mall in Malad. On Monday, he left home late around 7 pm after informing his family that he was going for his job. But he did not go there.
Sometime later, his father got a call from his employer that Naik had not turned up for work. His father then looked for him everywhere and found him near Dahanukarwadi Metro station. His father asked him why he hadnt gone for the job and brought him home around 11 pm.
Police said Naik was having an argument with his family when he suddenly ran out of the house and went towards the terrace. The terrace was locked. Naik then jumped down from a duct and landed on the ground with a thud. His family rushed him to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police were informed around 12.45 am.
An accidental case has been recorded by Kandivali Police. Investigators will quiz family members and take their statements after Naik’s last rites. Police said Naik also had plans to study further though he was currently not studying.
