Patna: A 20-year-old youth was arrested in Muzaffarpur district on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy. The accused, identified as Nikhil Kumar, was sent to judicial custody after his arrest.According to police, the incident took place while the child was playing outside his house on Thursday afternoon. The accused approached the child and asked him to accompany him to his house. When the minor refused, Nikhil allegedly slapped him and forcibly took him to his residence, where he locked the boy in a room and sexually assaulted him.The profusely bleeding boy returned home. Upon questioning by the family members, the traumatised child revealed the entire incident to his family, who then rushed to the local police station late in the evening to file a complaint.The boy’s mother told reporters, “My son was playing outside in the afternoon when Nikhil forcibly took him to his house. He locked my child in a room and sexually assaulted him.”Rural SP Vidya Sagar said a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Pocso Act.“We received the complaint late in the evening, and immediate action was taken. The accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody on Friday. The child’s clothes were seized by the forensic experts and were sent for blood and semen examination. Further legal action is being taken to prepare a chargesheet for conducting a speedy trial,” said the SP.
