Youth arrested for assaulting girls for resisting rape bid in Patna | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: A youth was arrested for allegedly forcing two girls to drink alcohol and assaulting them along with three of his friends for resisting their rape bid at a rented flat in the state capital in the early hours of Tuesday. Accused Rajiv Kumar brought the girls to his flat around 2am on the pretext of helping them get a hotel room.
According to the victims, hearing their scream, neighbours complained to police, which rescued the girls.The three other accused managed to escape.
Secretariat DSP Anu Kumari said the girls told the police that they came to Patna on Monday night for treatment. “After getting off the train at Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Rajiv lured them on the pretext of arranging a room for them in a hotel. When they got in his SUV, three other boys were already present,” Kumari said, adding that the police are probing the case.
