Bhubaneswar: A worker died and two others sustained serious injuries when the roof of an under-renovation house collapsed at Lingaraj Vihar in Pokhariput area here on Tuesday. Sources said the old roof structure suddenly gave way during rain, trapping three workers beneath the debris.Emergency response teams rushed to the scene and rescued two labourers, who are in critical condition. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.Police and fire service personnel conducted thorough search operations to ensure no other individuals were trapped in the rubble. “An investigation was launched to determine whether safety protocols were followed during the construction activity or not. We will take action accordingly,” said police commissioner S Dev Dutta Singh.Pokhariput police have started investigation into the circumstances that led to the roof collapse.
