Woman’s partially burnt body found in Telangana canal, murder suspected | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: The body of an unidentified woman in her mid-30s, with her face partially burnt, was found in a canal at Peddemul in Telangana’s Vikarabad district on Wednesday.
Police suspect that she was murdered and that her face was burnt before being dumped in the canal.
A preliminary investigation did not indicate sexual assault; however, confirmation will come after the post-mortem examination and further analysis.
A murder case has been registered, and a detailed probe is underway, said Balakrishna Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tandur, Vikarabad.
After conducting a crime scene panchnama in the presence of witnesses, including a female health worker, authorities shifted the body for a post-mortem examination. Special teams have also been deployed to identify the victim and apprehend the culprits, an official from Vikarabad stated.
