Ara: After eluding cops for about one month, a 32-year-old man, accused of killing his lover’s husband in collusion with her on November 19, was arrested by Bhojpur police from Pokhraha village under Bagen Tola police station of Buxar district on Thursday. Munna Yadav‘s lover, Shobha Devi had already been arrested on November 25 in connection with the murder case, registered in Tiyar police station of Bhojpur, on November 21.
Police said Munna Singh, a resident of Gangadhar Dihri village under the Tiyar PS in Bhojpur, had a love affair with Shobha Devi, a resident of the same village. The couple hatched a plan to kill Shyam Babu Shah, woman’s husband.
“Finding Shyam alone at a deserted place on the Gangadhar Dihri – Kataibojha Road on November 19, Munna attacked Shyam with an axe. Even after getting grievously injured, Shyam tried to run for his life, but Munna overpowered and killed him by breaking his skull into pieces with the axe. He fled from the spot after throwing the axe in an agricultural field at the village. However, Munna, who was hiding at his sister’s place at Pokhraha village under Bagen Tola police station in Buxar district after committing the crime, was arrested by the Bhojpur police on Thursday,” said Jagdishpur SDPO, Rajiv Chandra Singh, on Thursday evening.
