Woman shot dead by nephew overmonetary dispute in Begusarai dist | Patna News – Times of India
Begusarai: A 60-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her nephew at Neema village under Chandpura police station area of Begusarai district on Saturday night. The deceased, Rekha Devi, a resident of the village, had a dispute with her brother and nephew over transaction of her share of money after they sold a plot of land.
Begusarai SP Manish said they received information on Sunday night that a woman was shot dead in Neema village and a police team soon was sent there along with an FSL team to investigate the incident.
“Rekha’s maternal home is in Khagaria district. A piece of land belonging to her maternal home was sold there. Whenever she asked for her share of money, her brother and nephew used to make excuses. On Saturday, her nephew, Ravi Kumar came to Rekha’s home. Rekha asked her daughter in-law to make tea for him. However, when the latter went inside the kitchen to prepare tea the accused shot her dead and fled the spot,” he said.
“A police team led by Begusarai Sadar-02 SDPO, Bhaskar Ranjan, was investigating the case, and carrying out raids to nab the accused,” the SP added.
