Woman shot by husband’s uncle in Patna over land dispute | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: A woman was allegedly shot at by her father-in-law’s brother at Jamalpura village under Naubatpur police station area in Patna on Saturday morning over a land dispute, police said.
The injured woman, Lalsa Devi, wife of Ashok Singh, has been admitted to the AIIMS-Patna by her family members, where her condition remains critical.
The SHO of Naubatpur police station, Rajnish Kumar Kesari said the accused Shyamdev Singh and his nephew Jai Ram Kumar have been arrested by the police in this connection.
“A country-made pistol used to commit the crime was recovered from his house along with a live cartridge,” he told TOI.
The incident took place around 9am, when Lalsa asked Jai to remove sand, which was dumped at a land adjacent to her house in Jamalpura. According to the victim’s family, infuriated over this, Jai started beating her up. Shyamdev also reached the spot and fired on Lalsa. The police said Lalsa sustained bullet injury in her neck. After the incident, both the accused fled from the spot.
