Berhampur: A case was registered against BJD member and former minister Srikant Sahu and his family members at Kabisurya Nagar police station in Ganjam district on Tuesday for allegedly misbehaving with a woman near his residence at Hatiota in Feb. The case was registered against former Polasara MLA Sahu, following the direction of Orissa HC after victim Sanjukta Mahala filed a petition in the court, said Sudhir Kumar Sahoo, IIC, Kabisurya Nagar police station.He said the woman had also lodged an FIR. tnn

New criminal laws: UP Police lodges 255 FIRs on Day 1
Uttar Pradesh Police, following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, smoothly registered 255 FIRs and 28 NCR under new laws, with training and equipment procurement completed. Ghaziabad Police registered eight cases till 5pm, ensuring ongoing cases remain unaffected, with new laws applicable only to cases post July 1.
