Bhubaneswar: A woman in her 60s was killed and two of her relatives were seriously injured following an attack at Deopada village in Bhadrak district on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Jhunulata Sahoo, died on the spot after four assailants allegedly forced their way into the house and attacked the women with sharp weapons, police sources said. Two other victims, who sustained grievous injuries, are currently undergoing treatment. Their identities have not been disclosed.
Bhandaripokhari police station IIC Mohaprasad Nayak said, “Prima facie, it is believed to be a case of family enmity. We are interrogating the victim’s family members.”
He said a special team has been formed to apprehend the attackers. Law enforcement officials have deployed a scientific team at the crime scene to gather evidence.
