HYDERABAD: A 23-year-old food delivery worker from Andhra Pradesh jumped from a moving MMTS train in Hyderabad after a male passenger attempted to sexually assault her. The incident occurred on Saturday night when she was traveling alone in the ladies’ coach.
The woman sustained severe head and body injuries but is now reported to be out of danger at a local hospital. Government railway police in Secunderabad have launched an investigation into the incident.
The victim, who resides in Medchal, had visited Secunderabad for mobile phone repairs. While returning home, she was alone in the ladies’ compartment after two other women passengers disembarked at Alwal station.
The suspect, described as a man in his mid-20s, boarded the train at this point and approached the woman. Despite her objections, he continued his advances, prompting her to jump from the moving train.
Passersby discovered the injured woman and transported her to the hospital while alerting railway authorities.
“A case was registered and a hunt is on for the suspect,” said Inspector B Sai Eswar Goud.
