Woman Falls: Woman falls off building, dies; family alleges foul play | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: A 23-year-old teaching assistant at a private technical institution succumbed to her injuries on Friday after falling from the institution’s building on June 11. Family members have alleged foul play in the incident and demanded justice for the woman.
The victim, identified as Barsha Mishra, a native of Keonjhar district, had been working in the institution’s computer science department since 2023.She had an altercation with the head of department (HoD) over a personal remark.
According to the FIR lodged at Tamando police station by the victim’s brother Sunil, Barsha was mentally and physically harassed by the HoD, a woman. “The HoD is involved in the murder of my sister,” he added.
Sunil said the institution did not inform the police about the incident and took her to hospital. “If they had not made a mistake, why were the police not informed about this incident? I request the police to take action against the authorities of the institution,” he added. Police have registered a complaint and started an investigation.
