Thereafter, she contacted Ahmed almost every week to set her hair. On the night of April 27, she sent a WhatsApp message to Ahmed to come to her house the following day around 9am to do her hair. Ahmed arrived around 9.45am, when Shalini’s two children, her sister, and domestic help were also home. They were busy with their chores when Ahmed began to set her hair in the hall. However, as he stood behind her, he allegedly unzipped his pants and started misbehaving with her.As he started touching her inappropriately, she pushed him back. As she screamed, he fled. A senior police officer said, “We picked up Ahmed and interrogated him. A case has been registered under BNS Section 79 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). According to the complainant, though he had visited her house for the past few months, this was the first time he had misbehaved.”
