MUMBAI: Amid the recent terror attacks in J&K’s Reasi, Kathua and Doda and continuous unrest in Manipur, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to visit the violence hit regions.

Speaking at a press conference, the former Maharashtra chief minister also inquired about the ground-level changes after the abrogation of Article 370, which had granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
On the recent terror attacks in J&K, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray questioned, “Who is responsible for this? Where are the ones who promised change this time? Will the PM and Home Minister not visit J&K? It is the responsibility of PM Modi and if he can’t manage these issues, then he has no right to be the Prime Minister again.”
“Lives are being lost. Who is responsible for the terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir?” he asked.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday expressed concern over the ongoing conflict in Manipur, saying that the situation must be addressed with priority.
“Will Prime Minister Modi visit Manipur after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks?” Thackeray asked.
“I am concerned about the future of the country and not about the future of the NDA govt,” said the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader.
Regarding the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, Thackeray reassured that there were no disagreements within the coalition, which includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and the NCP (SP) led by Sharad Pawar, over candidates for the upcoming state legislative council elections.
“There is no difference,” Thackeray asserted.
He acknowledged that there was a “loose connection” in the dialogue among MVA partners, explaining that he was not in the loop after the Lok Sabha polls.
During this period, all parties announced their candidates and nominations had to be filed within the specified timeframe, he said.
The deadline for filing nominations was June 7, with voting scheduled for June 26, and results to be announced on July 1.
