Will contest on all assembly seats, says RLJP president Pashupati Kumar Paras | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Former Union minister and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) president Pashupati Kumar Paras on Sunday said his party was making preparations to contest all the 243 assembly seats in Bihar, indicating his conflict with the ruling NDA in the state. The RLJP, which still is a part of the NDA, is said to be annoyed with the BJP leadership over certain issues.
Talking to reporters on Sunday, Paras, who served as the Union minister for food processing industries in the Narendra Modi govt, said the party has launched a drive to strengthen the base across the state and it would field candidates on all the 243 seats. “Right now, we are making preparations on all the 243 assembly seats and will field our candidates there,” Paras said before leaving for the “Chalo gaon ki ore” programme his party launched to strengthen the organisation from village to state level. Asked about his alliance plan, he said nothing has been decided yet.
Paras, who heads the Dalit Sena, said the party would take a call on the alliance at an opportune time. “Yeh abhi bhavishya ke garbh mein hai (this is stored in the future),” he said, adding whatever decision has to be taken, it would be done in the party’s working committee meeting. He claimed his party has organisational structures across the country.
Paras, who was a part of the Modi cabinet during the NDA-II govt, is stated to be angry at the way the NDA govt in the state forced him to vacate his party office and allotted the same to the party headed by LJP (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan, who is now a minister in the Modi cabinet and holds the same portfolio that his estranged uncle held.
Trouble began after the BJP refused to allot any seat to the Paras camp under the seat-sharing deal during the recently held Lok Sabha elections, even though his party had five MPs in the Lok Sabha. Irked at the treatment, Paras resigned as the cabinet minister although he stayed with the NDA.
