Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered a total of 2,14,113 cognizable offence in 2024, up from 1,99,954 registered in 2023, the white paper circulated by the home department among MLAs on Tuesday stated. The offences include 1,258 cases of murder, 3,054 rape and 12,375 accidents, among others.
The number of murder cases have marginally fallen from 1,362 registered in 2023. Rape cases have gone up from 2,826 the previous year. The number of accident cases have also increased compared to 11,992 in 2023. TNN
