Water tankers launch strike against notices – The Times of India

Mumbai: Starting today (April 10), the Mumbai Water Tanker Association will be on an indefinite break, following notices issued by the BMC to owners of private wells supplying water to tankers.
The BMC directed well owners to obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the Central Ground Water Authority, failing which existing permissions will be revoked. The move could disrupt water supply to star hotels, as well as major infrastructure projects that rely on tanker water. Ankur Sharma, spokesperson of the association, said, “We have suspended our water tanker services from today, April 10.” tnn
