Berhampur: Water supply to Berhampur will be disrupted on Friday due to a major repair in the supply main pipe from Janibili project at Nalabanta near Aska. “It needs to be repaired after de-watering the pipe. The water supply will be affected for one day,” said Bikash Padhy, general manager, Watco (Water Corporation of Odisha), Berhampur division.
Besides, they will also be doing some maintenance work, keeping in view the peak summer, he said. “We hope all the work will be completed in a day,” he added. Around 70 million litres of water per day is supplied to the city from Janibili against its capacity of 90 MLD. The water is supplied to over 55,000 households with tap connections. He said as an alternative measure water will be supplied through tankers in different wards.
