Water seeps into newly launched Worli metro stn

Mumbai: Water was seen being collected in a bucket near the ticketing area of Worli Metro Station (Metro Line 3) Wednesday morning, raising concern about seepage issues within weeks of the underground corridor’s partial launch. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) acknowledged the issue, and assured commuters that services remain unaffected.In a statement, MMRC said, “The minor water seepage has no impact on station operations or commuter safety. Train services between Aarey, JVLR, and Worli stations are running smoothly without any disruption…”Acharya Atre Chowk station, which saw flooding during recent rains, remained closed for the third consecutive day, with entry and exit points still out of bounds for commuters.Sources said post-flooding safety protocols are rigorous. “There is a need to ensure every system impacted by water, including power supply, signalling relays, and fire detection panels, is not only dry but functionally stable.
