Warrant against BJP MP Pragya Thakur in Malegaon blast case | Mumbai News – Times of India
This is not the first time Thakur has failed to appear in court for the final arguments in the case.
MUMBAI: A fresh bailable warrant was issued against former BJP MP, Pragya Singh Thakur, an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. In the recent past, the court also issued such a warrant after she failed to appear in court.
Final arguments are currently being heard from defence advocates, and the trial is in its final stage.
On Sept 29, 2008, a bomb exploded at Bhikku Chowk, Malegaon, killing six and injuring more than 100. An explosive device strapped to a motorcycle went off near a mosque in the town, some 200 km from Mumbai.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts from Nashik opined that the exhibits collected from the place contained cyclonite (RDX) and ammonium nitrate, which are also used as high explosives.
