Viral video shows how a snake flushes out rats from walls in a bizarre pest control experiment

The internet never fails to surprise us. Every now and then, bizarre, confusing, and surprisingly odd videos make their way to social media platforms, leaving users in disbelief and generating plenty of memes. Whether it’s animals behaving unexpectedly, unusual home remedies, or strange life hacks, there’s no shortage of unusual content that makes the viewers replay the videos several times.
One such video recently surfaced online, leaving the internet collectively scratching its head. What started off as a man inserting a tiny snake into a wall soon escalated into a scene straight out of a DIY horror-comedy until, of course, the unexpected twist made everything fall into place.

The video was shared online

A confusing video shared on Reddit by the handle ‘DrizzleTwist’ has taken the internet by storm. The clip, which shows a man placing a small snake into a square cut-out in a house wall, initially made no sense to viewers only until a sudden twist turned the strange move into a surprisingly clever one.
As the snake slithered into the hole, many expected it to disappear and never return. But within seconds, the reason behind the man’s actions became clear. Multiple rats began fleeing the wall in a panic, running straight into a bucket that the man held out. The snake looked almost like it had been deployed as a living, slithering pest control system.

The post’s caption jokingly read, “What could go wrong?”

The video quickly pulled in over 8,000 reactions, where the Redditors debated its authenticity and laughed at the unexpected outcome in the comment section. While many found it hilarious, others were not really convinced. Several users questioned whether the rats were actually wild at all.

How did the internet react?

Users commented, “I have serious questions as to whether this is real, as those seem like some very polite, well-groomed rodents. Admittedly, my experience with mice and rats is either pets or extremely dead wild ones,” one user commented.
“Actually, wild rats would be screaming at the human and jumping out of that bucket,” added another. “These are not wild. I’ve had plenty of experience with wild rodents, and these are not them. No way in hell.”
Another user also wrote, “1 At first, I was expecting the snake to never come back out. 2. They look like timid pet mice, not wild. 3 Like the first point, I would think the snake would have a nice feast and pass out in the wall cavity.”
Many also speculated the video was planned and made up, stating the calm behaviour of the rats and the convenient setup. The authenticity of the video also could not be verified.
