PATNA: As his father’s murder sparked widespread outrage, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani said on Tuesday that none could “scare” him by resorting to such a heinous act. Seeking action against the culprits, Sahani described the incident as the “black day” for the fishermen community to which he belongs.
“My father (Jitan Sahani) was killed with such brutality that it is difficult to explain in words.Blood from his wounds got splattered on the walls of the house. The incident is extremely unfortunate and unbearable for our entire family,” Sahani poured his heart out in his post on X after visiting the place of occurrence.
He urged the state government to investigate the case quickly and ensure the culprits are served the harshest punishment. He also appealed to the people to join the cremation of his father in large numbers to share his grief.
Earlier talking to reporters in Patna, the VIP chief said top leaders like Union home minister Amit Shah, chief minister Nitish Kumar and RJD president Lalu Prasad called him up and expressed their solidarity with him in this hour of crisis. He, however, was in Mumbai when the news of his father’s murder reached him.
“The CM told me over phone that he is personally looking into this case, and that prompt and proper action would be taken against the culprits,” Mukesh said, adding he had got assurance that the murderers would be sternly dealt with.
