Vigilance Sleuths: Talcher mines official under vigilance lens in DA case | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Monday conducted search operations at eight locations reportedly linked to Dharanidhar Nayak, deputy director of mines, Talcher, following allegation he possessed disproportionate assets (DA).
Nayak is the latest official to have come under vigilance lens. On Monday, chief minister Mohan Majhi told the assembly that vigilance had conducted searches on properties linked to 39 officials since his govt took over in June.During this time, disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 49.35 crore have been detected.

Vigilance sleuths, led by 10 DSPs, 16 inspectors, seven SI/ASIs, and other supporting staff, conducted simultaneous searches at eight places in Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar and Angul districts. It included his paternal house at Chhamunda village under Telkoi police station limits in Keonjhar district and a temporary residence in Talcher.
The team unearthed a 3BHK flat (worth around Rs 1.3 crore) in an apartment in Patia area here, a duplex of 1800 square feet at Sundarpada in the city, a double-storied market complex consisting of 15 shops at Badinali Sinkulabahal, under Telkoi police station limits in Keonjhar and another market complex building consisting of four shops adjacent to the double-storied market complex. Rs 9.83 lakh in cahs was seized by during the searches.
