Vigilance Raids Uncover ₹3 Crore Illegal Assets of IDCO Junior Manager in Odisha | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday found a four-storey building worth over Rs 3 crore, among several other properties in the city, Khurda and Puri district allegedly belonging to a junior manager of Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), during searches carried out to unearth disproportionate assets.
Officers said the value of his assets far exceeds his known sources of income.
Vigilance sleuths said Bijay Kumar Udaysingh’s house at Arya Vihar here, worth Rs 3.22 crore, is spread over 7,500 sq ft area. It has as many as 12 air conditioners installed and a remote-control main entrance gate. He owns a flat at Balukhand in Puri district and two high-value homestead plots in prime locations in Bhubaneswar and Khurda. He is also owner of a land located under Rajrani mouza in Bhubaneswar and another in Khurda.
“We found bank deposits of Rs 33 lakh and Rs 4.50 lakh cash from his house during searches. Other deposits and investments are being verified. Searches are being conducted at his parental home at Jankia, his office in IDCO Tower, and a relative’s house at Samantarapur here. A crusher unit is also functioning at his native Mundamba,” a vigilance officer said.
State vigilance engaged eight deputy superintendents of police (DSP), inspectors and other support staff. Searches were conducted after search warrants were issued by the special judge, vigilance.
On Aug 31, chief minister Mohan Majhi informed the assembly that in three months (between June and Aug), the state vigilance wing registered 11 cases of disproportionate assets against eight Class-I officers, two Class-II officers, and one Class-III officer. He said the value of total disproportionate assets unearthed was Rs 49,35,98,714 till Aug 31. In three months since June, vigilance also registered 26 bribery trap cases against six Class-I officers, two Class-II officers, 19 Class-III officers, a political person and four private individuals, the CM had stated.

The Central Vigilance Commission is investigating alleged irregularities in the reconstruction of the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence. The investigation, based on a complaint by BJP MLA Vijender Gupta, will examine potential building regulation violations and environmental concerns during the renovation of the property at 6, Flagstaff Road. The Aam Aadmi Party maintains its stance of honesty and welcomes the investigation.
