Vigilance arrests panchayat official in DA case | Bhubaneswar News
Koraput: Vigilance officers on Friday arrested S Partha Sarathi Bisoi, an accountant-cum-data entry operator of Batasana gram panchayat in Kotpad block, for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The arrest followed simultaneous searches conducted by vigilance teams at seven locations linked to Bisoi on Thursday. P K Dwivedi, vigilance SP, Jeypore, said, “Bisoi possesses disproportionate assets amounting to 300% of his known sources of income.”
The searches uncovered extensive properties, including 16 plots at different locations, two residential buildings — a triple-storey 4,500 sq ft structure at Pailo Sahi, Borigumma, and a 2,400 sq ft building at Champia village. Officials also discovered a cashew processing unit spanning 8,561 sq ft at Champia.
Other seized assets include Rs 2,45,000 of cash, gold jewellery weighing 285 grams, and 706 grams of silver ornaments. The accused also owned multiple vehicles, including three tractors, a SUV, three two-wheelers, and industrial equipment such as concrete mixture machines and paddy threshers. Bisoi was produced in the special vigilance court in Jeypore.
