UPRTOU exams to be held at 169 centres including six jails | Prayagraj News

Prayagraj: The June 2025 session examinations of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), Prayagraj are set to begin on Saturday, 31 May at 169 centres across the state. Among these centres are six district and central jails. Approximately 72,000 candidates are expected to appear in the examinations.Vice Chancellor of the lone open university of the state, Prof Satyakam, shared this information while addressing the media. He informed that the exams will be held until 25 June, and the timetable has already been uploaded on the university’s official website for the convenience of students. The certificate and diploma exams will be conducted from 31 May to 24 June, undergraduate exams from 31 May to 25 June, and postgraduate exams from 6 June to 25 June. Examinations will take place in two shifts: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Admit cards have been made available online and can be downloaded by students for entry into the examination centres.The examination centre selection committee finalised the 169 centres after reviewing applications and ensuring compliance with both university standards and state govt guidelines. The highest number of centres (27) are in the Prayagraj region, followed by Gorakhpur (26), Varanasi (25), Ayodhya (20), Lucknow (16), Azamgarh (13), Kanpur (11), Agra (10), Jhansi (8), Meerut (6), Ghaziabad (4), and Bareilly (3). As part of the university’s ongoing efforts to support prisoner education, exams will be held in six jails: Naini (Prayagraj), Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Bareilly, and Fatehgarh (Farrukhabad).To ensure transparency and fairness, strict measures have been put in place. Mobile phones will be restricted inside examination halls, except for the centre in-charge. CCTV cameras have been mandated at entry points and inside exam rooms. Flying squads and supervisor teams have also been formed to conduct exams without malpractice. In response to the severe summer heat, arrangements for drinking water and well-ventilated rooms have been ordered. Public Relations Officer of the university, Prabhat Chandra Mishra, said that a helpdesk has been established at the Controller of Examinations’ office to address students’ queries. The
