Upload teachers’ data toportal in 3 days: Edu dept

Patna: The state education department has asked the universities to upload the desired data of teachers and non-teaching staff on the ‘payroll management portal’ within three days to facilitate the release of salary grants for July.
In a letter written to the vice-chancellors of all the conventional universities of the state, department’s secretary Baidyanath Yadav pointed out that despite the decision taken at a meeting presided over by the education minister on June 12 last and several repeated reminders from the department to upload the required data, the universities have not furnished the required data so far. These data were to be used for payment of salaries and verification of utilization certificates for the grants sanctioned to the universities.
As of date, the letter said, Patna University (PU) has uploaded only 4.62% of data. The B R A Bihar University has uploaded 9.24% of the data. The data uploaded by several other universities, including B N Mandal University (24.01%) and Magadh University (40.04%) are also far from satisfactory, it added.
The department asked the universities to upload the required data of all the remaining teachers and non-teaching staff within the next three days.
When asked about the delay in uploading the required data on the payroll management portal, PU registrar Shalini claimed that the university has tried uploading the required data several times in the past but owing to some inherent defects in the software, the data could not be uploaded.
