Update KYC: Parida urges Subhadra beneficiaries | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Around two lakh beneficiaries are yet to update their Know Your Customer (KYC) for Subhadra Yojana. Deputy chief minister Pravati Parida appealed to them to update it before the fourth phase of the scheme, which is set to commence by the month-end.
Parida said the govt has given enough time to women to apply for the scheme and updating their KYC online. “Aadhaar, bank account, and fingerprint details of the beneficiaries should be matched. It will help them get the benefits from the scheme. Money will be credited to their account during the disbursal of instalments of the scheme,” she added.
She said they have decided to release the fourth instalment of the Subhadra scheme money to the beneficiaries. “In view of this, we request the women to complete the e-KYC formality immediately. If they do not complete this process, the disbursal of money will get delayed,” she added.
She said all eligible beneficiaries of Subhadra scheme will get their money. She said around 31,000 women opted out of the scheme while applying for the benefit. “They did that by mistake. After getting requests from them, we allowed them to ‘Opt In’ in the Subhadra scheme portal to get into the scheme. Around 17,000 women have re-enrolled/opted in their names for the scheme,” she added.
Odisha govt released the first instalment of Rs 5,000 to over 25 lakh beneficiaries under its Subhadra Yojana programme on Sept 17 last year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme here. Named after the sister of Lord Jagannath, Subhadra Yojana was a key promise in the BJP’s election manifesto in Odisha.
The scheme ensures financial assistance to eligible women aged 21-60 years, totalling Rs 50,000 over five years from 2024 to 2029. Beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 annually in two instalments of Rs 5,000 each, given on Rakhi Purnima and International Women’s Day on March 8. The initiative aims to benefit over one crore women.
