Udhaya lays foundation for projects in his constituency | Chennai News – Times of India

Chennai: Deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin laid the foundation for multiple infrastructure projects worth more than 20 crore in the Chepauk–Triplicane constituency, including a multipurpose complexand two library-cum-research centres, on Friday. He also inaugurated newly built residential quarters for temple staff.The multipurpose centre will be constructed by CMDA at a cost of 12.37 crore on Pycrofts Road.Spread across 15,408sqft, the three-storey building will house an air-conditioned marriage hall with 224 seats, dining space, guest rooms, parking for two and four-wheelers, and elevators.Two CM’s innovation centres andpublic libraries are also coming up — one on Johnny Baasha Street in Triplicane at a cost of 1.87 crore over 4,273sqft, and another on Bharathi Salai at a cost of 1.37 crore over 2,420sqft.Later, Udhayanidhi inaugurated a 77.5-lakh building with three staff quarters built by the HR&CE department opposite Kasturba Gandhi Hospital. He also opened two more buildings near Parthasarathy Temple comprising 12 and 9 quarters, built at a cost of 3.22 crore and 1.87 crore, respectively.HR&CE minister P K Sekarbabu, mayor R Priya, MP Dayanidhi Maran and senior IAS officers were also present.
