UAE Consulate In Odisha: Odisha CM Seeks UAE Consulate and Medical Colleges in Every District | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his deputies K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida on Saturday met Union health minister J P Nadda and external affairs minister S Jaishankar and discussed on bolstering healthcare infrastructure and strengthening international relations of Odisha, respectively.
During the meeting with Jaishankar, Majhi highlighted the significance of opening a UAE consulate in Odisha, given the large number of residents working in Dubai.Majhi said such a consulate would strengthen business ties with Dubai. He also sought assistance from the ministry in resolving the issues faced by eight Odisha natives stranded in Dubai.
Majhi also discussed the development of tourism in Odisha, including the creation of a golf course in the Buddhist circuit, a major maritime trade centre, and an international tourism centre.
“The development of Buddhist tourism is seen as a means to strengthen cultural and commercial ties between Japan and Odisha. The central govt decided to send a specialist team for the proposed maritime trade centre to be set up in Odisha,” a statement from the CMO read.
In the meeting with Nadda, Majhi urged to expedite efforts to ensure that every district in Odisha has a medical college. The discussions also covered the proposal for a second AIIMS in Sambalpur and expansion of the existing AIIMS in Bhubaneswar.
