Two teens drown in Ulhas river | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Thane: Two boys from Powai died by drowning during a picnic at Ulhas river, Ambernath. The incident occurred on Sunday. The teens identified as Vivek Tiwari, 17, and Vinayak Shah, 18, entered the water and went into the deep end. However, neither one of them knew how to swim and hence drowned.
Locals informed the fire department that rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies and sent them to the hospital for post-mortem.
The police registered a case of accidental death.
Recently, in a similar incident on the day of Holi, four children went to bathe in the Ulhas river, where they drowned. Local said that this incident has once again highlighted the need for tourists to be cautious. Pradeep Gupta
