Two men arrested for killing teen | Bhubaneswar News

Sambalpur: Deogarh police arrested a 25-year-old man and his 22-year-old friend for strangulating a 17-year-old boy in Tungamal forest under Kundeigola police limits on Thursday. Superintendent of police (Deogarh) Anil Kumar Mishra said deceased and the 25-year-old man were in love with the same girl.
The accused, Sushil Munda (25) from Naktideul in Sambalpur district, planned the murder of Amit Munda. He took the help of a mutual friend, Aman Nayak from Koradaposi village. Aman called Amit to the forest where Sushil was present on Monday night. Amit went to the spot, where the accused strangulated him the same night. After killing him, they took him to a nearby place in the forest and covered his body with dried Mahua leaves. The family of the deceased had filed a missing report with Kundeigola police on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday, the body was spotted by villagers in Tungamal and they informed police. Police seized the body for postmortem. “The arrested accused have confessed to their crime. The digital evidence of the deceased and accused helped in the probe. We have seized Amit’s mobile phone and rope from Aman’s house. The two accused were sent to judicial custody on Thursday,” said the SP.
