Berhampur: Two people were killed after being struck by lightning at Narayanpur under Ganjam district’s Jarada police limits on Monday. The deceased were identified as Sakili Kaniwari, 56, and one of his relatives, M.Bhabesh Kaniwari, 18, of Narayanpur village.The incident occurred around 2 pm when the deceased were grazing buffaloes. The area experienced a sudden downpour followed by lightning. They took shelter under a tree when the lightning struck them. The villagers rushed them to the nearby hospital at Patrapur, where the doctors declared them dead.
