Two cyber fraud victims get lost money back | Prayagraj News

Prayagraj: Sleuths of the cybercrime police refunded Rs 95,900 to two victims of cyber fraud on Sunday. Both the victims were allegedly duped by cyber conmen who approached them on the pretext of helping with UPI payments and prevent phishing calls.A senior official said, “After witnessing a rise in the cases of cyber fraud, cops are interacting with rural folks, advising them not to share their bank details like OTP, password, CVV, UPI pin, etc., with anyone posing as bank, police, or govt officials.”He added, “A series of special awareness campaigns have been taken up among digital users, appealing to people to be cautious while doing digital transactions. Moreover, stress has also been laid on the importance of prompt reporting in case of cyber fraud, stating that immediate action increases the chances of recovering lost money. Victims should immediately contact the police or helpline number 1930 or file a complaint on the national cybercrime reporting portal.“
