Bhubaneswar: Police on Tuesday arrested two men in Patnagarh for allegedly duping job aspirants of Rs 2.10 lakh by claiming to be close confidants of deputy chief minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.
The two were identified as Buddhadeb Sahu (41) and Sushil Rao (36). Both hail from separate villages under Patnagarh block.
According to the police, the two youths identified themselves as officers on special duty for the deputy CM and duped three youths of Rs 70,000 each.
“The youths projected themselves as close confidants of Singh Deo and collected money from job aspirants, promising to provide them jobs in a hospital. The unsuspecting youths gave money to the duo. After several complaints surfaced against them, we detained them for interrogation,” Patnagarh sub-divisional police officer Sadanand Pujari said.
