Rourkela: A driver of a trailer truck died after he fell 80 ft off a bridge while making a reel in Sundargarh district on Friday. The deceased was identified as Suresh Kumar (30), a native of Sonbhadra district in Uttar Pradesh.Police said Kumar was travelling from Rourkela to Koida. On Friday afternoon, while he was driving on theRajamund-Rimuli roadon NH-520, he stopped at Chunaghati bridge. After parking his trailer, he made a reel on his mobile, admiring the scenic beauty. While making the reel, he slipped and plunged 80 ft off the bridge into river sand below and died.On Saturday, NHAI officials noticed the man’s body on the river sand. Some local truck drivers, while crossing the bridge, also parked their vehicles and said they saw Kumar making a reel on Friday afternoon.After getting information, officers from K Balang police station reached the spot, and a forensic team was also called to the scene.The body was recovered and the deceased was identified.The body was sent to the morgue at Bonai sub-divisional hospital. Family members of the deceased were informed about Kumar’s death. The trailer was seized. On Sunday, Kumar’s family members arrived in Bonai, and after post-mortem, his body was handed over to them. Police have registered an unnatural death case and are investigating the matter.
