Chennai: A truck that coming in the wrong direction knocked down a 66-year-old, killing him on the spot, near Ennore on Tuesday.
The victim, Lingamuthu, a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar, Ennore, was returning from Parrys when the incident occurred.
He got down from an MTC bus at Ennore and was attempting to cross the road when a truck, coming from the wrong direction, hit him. He was run over by the front wheel of the truck. Passers-by rushed to his aid and took him to Govt Stanley Hospital. Police booked the truck driver, Nagarajan, a resident of Tirunelveli, on charges of causing death due to negligence.
