Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, joint commissioner of state transport authority (STA), on the charges of possessing disproportionate assets. “The exact value of the disproportionate assets is being calculated. We found nearly 2.1 kg of gold jewellery, Rs 17.55 lakh in cash, and 11 high-value plots, among other assets. He was arrested after failing to explain the legitimate sources of his income,” a vigilance officer said. On Thursday, the anti-corruption wing officers conducted simultaneous searches at multiple locations linked to Mohanty, who is scheduled to retire next month.TNN
