Trains Cancelled and Routes Diverted Due to NI Work in East Central Railway | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The railways has cancelled at least eight long-distance mail and express trains and diverted routes of five others either originating from or passing through the jurisdiction of East Central Railway (ECR) till June 27, due to non-interlocking work (NI) being carried out in Lucknow division of the Northern Railway (NR).
The railways has taken up NI work on priority in the Lucknow division in a bid to improve required infrastructure and safety measures on tracks.
ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra said Lucknow– Patliputra Express (12529/12530) will remain cancelled on June 26 from both ends, while Anand Vihar–Muzaffarpur special (04057/04058) will not run on Monday from Ananad Vihar and Tuesday from Muzaffarpur side, he said.
Anand Vihar – Jogbani special (04009/04010) will remain cancelled on June 25 from Anand Vihar and June 27 from Jogbani-end. New Delhi–Sitamarhi special (04003/04004) will also be cancelled on June 25 from both ends, the CPRO said.
In addition, Barauni – New Delhi special (02563) will be diverted via Gorakhpur – Barhni- Gonda route on June 25 and 26, while Darbhanga – New Delhi special (02569/02570) will run via the same route on June 25 and 26, he said, adding Guwahati – Jammu Tawi special (05656) and Guwahati – Vaishno Devi Katra special (04679) will be diverted to the same Gorakhpur- Barhni – Gonda route on Monday.
Besides, the railways has decided to run Amritsar – Jayanagar Express (14674) about 150 minutes late from Amritsar on June 25, while Howrah – Kathgodam Express (13020) will be delayed by 105 minutes on June 25, CPRO said.
