Train services to start between Japla & Nabinagar | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: Following nod from commissioner of railway safety (CRS) S Mitra, the railways has started preparations for starting train services on the newly laid tracks between Japla and Nabinagar—a stretch of 16 km—on the Sonnagar-Patratu third line route of the East Central Railway (ECR).
ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra said that Mitra had inspected the track fitness and feasibility to run traffic operations on the newly completed Japla-Nabinagar route on Wednesday.During inspection, he conducted a speed trial of a special train on the route and found the track condition fit for operations, he said, adding a final approval was given to introduce train services on the route on Thursday.
Sonnagar-Patratu third line project—a stretch of 291 km—was sanctioned in the fiscal 2015-16 at an estimated cost of Rs 4,500 crore. The project passes through Aurangabad district in Bihar while it runs through Ramgarh, Hazaribag, Latehar, Palamu and Garwa districts in Jharkhand. Sources said out of 291 km, railways has completed track-laying work on the stretch of 145 km route, while work on the rest is going on in full swing.
