Tragic Suicide of ITBP Jawan Gautam Sparks Concern Over Financial Stress in Bhojpur | Patna News – Times of India

Ara: A 25-year-old ITBP jawan, Gautam, tragically ended his life by hanging himself from a tree in his native village, Ganghar, under Mufassil police station area, in Bhojpur district. While the exact reason for this incident remains unclear, his father, Indra Kumar Ram, hinted that financial issues may have driven his son to take the extreme step.
The villagers saw the body of the ITBP jawan hanging from a tree on Sunday morning and informed the police. The jawan has left behind a suicide note in which he has requested his both brothers to look after his parents. He has written that he is committing suicide without anyone’s pressure or coercion.
Mufassil SHO Rajiv Ranjan Singh told this newspaper on Sunday that in the suicide note Gautam has requested the police not to vex his parents by asking them any question, since he was committing suicide without anyone’s pressure.
According to police sources, Gautam was posted at Belgaum in Karnataka and had left for his village on November 13, without informing his seniors.
Gautam’s father, who works in the Delhi, told the mediapersons that the reason behind the suicide seemed to be some financial issue. “On November 8, he had called me up and requested to send Rs 24,000 urgently which I had transferred the next day.” Gautam reportedly had also requested many of his relatives to send him money.
