Patna: One Sushma Devi, 56, died in a bike accident in Bishunpura village under the Bihta police station in Patna district on Tuesday. The Danapur resident was riding a bike driven by her husband, Jitendra Prasad Singh, to cast her vote in PACS elections when the accident occurred.
“I tried to give way to the truck that was driving close to us and it was then that I lost balance of the bike and both of us fell on opposite sides. My wife succumbed to the injuries on the spot,” Singh said.
SHO of Bihta police station, Raj Kumar Pandey, said the accident occurred around 11am when a speeding truck collided with the bike from behind near Budhiya Mai Mandir on Bishunpura main road. Although the truck was brought to the local police station, the driver fled, he said.
“The couple were residents of Ashokpuri Colony under the Danapur police station area in Patna,” Pandey said.
