Patna: A 20-year-old boy riding a motorcycle died after drowning in a water-filled pit within the limits of Bikram police station in Patna district. The body was retrieved from the water with the help of divers on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Vishal Chaudhary (20), a resident of Lai village in Bihta. Police said the youth was returning from his relative’s house late on Friday evening when he lost control over his bike near Manjhauli village and drowned in a water-filled pit along the road.
SHO of Bikram police station, Vinod Kumar, said the police team reached the spot as soon as they received information about the incident. “The bike was retrieved at night itself. Due to darkness, the youth could not be traced. The body was fished out by the divers on Saturday morning and sent to AIIMS-Patna for postmortem. The body was later handed over to his family for cremation. The matter is being investigated,” he said.
