Tragic Death: Woman Jumps to Death After Throwing Nephew from Apartment in Patna | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: A woman died by suicide after allegedly throwing her four-year-old nephew from the third floor of a house at Jayaprakash Nagar under the Jakkanpur police station area in Patna on Thursday morning. The victims were identified as Sanju Devi (22), wife of Rajiv Ranjan, a resident of Chandi in Nalanda district and her brother-in-law’s son Ayansh Kumar.
The incident came to light around 5am when passersby saw the bodies and informed the local police. Upon receiving the information, the police admitted them to NMCH-Patna, where they were declared brought dead. The police took the bodies into custody and sent them for postmortem. The FSL team also collected evidence from the spot.
Ritu Raj, SHO of Jakkanpur police station, said the woman had a dispute with her husband over some domestic issue. “On Thursday morning, she took the child and threw him off the building.After that, she also jumped off. It was verified after checking the CCTV footage of the nearby areas,” he said.
The SHO added, “Rajiv came to Patna with his wife Sanju and their four-year-old son Anshu Kumar to celebrate Chhath and they were staying at Karu’s house. The woman took the child to take revenge as Karu also favoured his cousin when he had a fight with his wife.”
