Tragic Death of Bengaluru Techie: Mother Faints While Carrying Mortal Remains at Patna Airport | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: It was a heart-rending scene when the family members of Bengaluru-based techie, Atul Subhash (34), reached the Patna airport carrying his mortal remains on Wednesday evening. While his mother was inconsolable and fainted at the airport, his father and brother raised questions about the system.
Atul was a native of Samastipur.
From Patna airport, they left for their native place in Samastipur, in a car.
Atul, an artificial intelligence (AI) engineer, died by suicide by hanging himself in his flat in Bengaluru. He was working with a tech company there. The 34-year-old Atul Subhash released a 1.2 hour recorded video and a 24-page letter on December 8, stating that he was left with no other option than to die by suicide.
“My elder son Atul got married to Nikita Singhania, a native of Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, in 2019. Since the wedding, Atul was never happy. His wife constantly tormented him. Atul thought everything would eventually settle down. A year later, my grandson was born, but things still didn’t improve,” said Atul’s father, Pawan Kumar.
Subhash in his video and letter held his wife Nikita Singhania, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and cousin-in-law responsible for his death. A formal complaint was filed against his wife and others in this matter by the deceased’s brother, Bikas Kumar.
Talking to TOI over the phone, Pawan said, “In the beginning of 2021, my daughter-in-law went back to her parents’ home. After going there, she filed a case against Atul and my entire family. My son believed he would get justice from the court. I will fight for my son and ensure justice is done.”
“Atul’s wife was working with a company in Bengaluru. At that time, Atul was employed at Mahindra & Mahindra. They both went to Bengaluru together just after their marriage,” he said.
“A year later, when their grandson was born, the daughter-in-law’s mother came to Bengaluru and, for some reason, ‘taught’ her something after which she return with the baby to her parental home. After that, everything changed completely. Imagine the trauma of the family, as the entire family has been made accused of attempt to murder, dowry… We don’t have any tradition of giving dowry in our family. Despite this, my daughter-in-law put us in such a big problem,” said Pawan.
The deceased’s younger brother, Bikas Kumar, talking to TOI over the phone, appealed that the incident should be highlighted so the lives of other young talented men could be saved. “We request the media to raise the issue so that the Centre would be forced to think of some amendments in the law for innocent men like Atul,” added Bikas.
