Tragic Collision Claims Lives of Four in Koraput: Truck vs. Motorcycle Accident | Bhubaneswar News

Koraput: Four persons, including two minors, died in a road accident on NH-326 near Jabaknadi under Jeypore Sadar police limits Friday morning. The victims, Dhoba Paraja (25), Loknath Jani (18), Ghasi Paraja (11), and Dhanpati Paraja (13), are all from Bichalkota village under Boipariguda block.
The four, who worked as farm labourers, were travelling to Jeypore on a motorcycle when they collided with a truck heading to Malkangiri from Jeypore around 8 am. All four were killed on the spot.
Eyewitnesses from the village reported that the victims routinely commuted to Jeypore to work in paddy fields. “Some villagers took an autorickshaw, while these four chose the motorcycle. The entire village is devastated by the news,” said Biju Rout, a resident of Bichalkota.
Preliminary investigations suggest dense fog and a possible imbalance of the motorcycle led to the collision. “The truck driver fled the scene following the accident. We are conducting an inquiry and will take necessary action,” said RR Dalai, IIC of Jeypore Sadar police station.
