Tragic Accident Claims Life of Father Dropping Son to School in Balasore | Bhubaneswar News
Balasore: A man died and his son was critically injured after a dumper truck hit their motorbike near Jagannathpur village under Remuna police station limits in Balasore district on Wednesday. According to information, the deceased was going to drop his eight-year-old son to school in the morning when the truck coming from the opposite direction collided with the two-wheeler.
The deceased was identified as Manas Panigrahi (31) of Mohantipada village in the district.
Locals rushed the two to Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore where Manas was declared brought dead.
The accident resulted in an agitation by locals who demanded police take strict action and provide compensation to the deceased’s family. Locals even burnt tyres and blocked the Remuna-Badapal road in protest.
The Remuna police and Remuna tehsildar reached the spot and lifted the road blockade, promising Rs 20,000 from the Red Cross to the family and Rs 5,000 for the son’s treatment.
